The jobs page
Click Jobs in the sidebar to see every job in your organization. The top of the page counts open jobs, jobs in transit, jobs completed in the last 30 days and unassigned jobs.
Under Advanced filters you can narrow the list by Status, Type, Priority, Driver and Scheduled Date. The registry table below lists each job with its title, type, status, priority, driver and date, newest first.
Creating a new job
- Click Create Job at the top right of the jobs page.
- Choose the Job Type: Delivery, Service or Multi-Stop.
- Enter a Title — the only required field — and a Description if it helps the driver.
- Set the Priority, then choose a Driver and a Vehicle. Leave the driver on Unassigned if you want to create the job without dispatching it yet.
- Set the Scheduled Date and, if the job has a time window, a Start Time and End Time.
- Fill in Customer Information, Pickup Address, Delivery Address and any Notes the job needs. For a Multi-Stop job, add at least two stops with Add Stop.
- Scroll to the foot of the form and click Create Job.
Choosing a driver is the dispatch — there is no separate dispatch button. A job created with a driver starts as Assigned and leads the registry table; a job created without one starts as Pending and waits in the unassigned count. The driver works the job in the Fleet by Elevera mobile app.
Before assigning a driver and vehicle, check the Schedule to make sure the driver is available and the vehicle is not already committed elsewhere at that time.
The job detail page
Click a job in the registry table, or View on its row, to open it. The header shows the job's status, priority and type. Below it you find the delivery or pickup address, the scheduled date, the customer, the assigned driver and vehicle, and who created the job and when. A Multi-Stop job lists its stops in order, each with its own status, and every status change is recorded with who made it and when.
While a job is still open, the Actions section lets you change Assign Driver and Assign Vehicle and confirm with Save Assignment, or cancel the job with Cancel Job. A completed, cancelled or failed job offers no actions.
Checking proof of delivery
Proof is captured by the driver in the mobile app when they complete the job — photos, a signature or a barcode, depending on what your organization's proof-of-delivery setting asks for. It then appears on the job for everyone in the office.
- Open a job the driver has already completed — use the Status filter to find completed jobs.
- In the Proof panel on the right, click a thumbnail.
- The proof opens full size, with its type and the time it was captured.
A job you have just created shows No proof captured yet until the driver completes it. That is why the walkthrough video creates one job and opens the proof of another: the proof always belongs to a delivery that is already done.
Job statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Created without a driver; waiting to be dispatched. |
| Assigned | A driver is assigned; the job has not started yet. |
| In Progress | The driver is working the job. |
| Completed | The driver has completed the job; proof, if captured, is on the job. |
| Cancelled | The job was cancelled. |
| Failed | The job could not be completed. |
How jobs relate to shifts
Jobs and shifts are related but distinct:
- A shift is a driver's working period with a vehicle. It has start and end times, inspection photos, and a status.
- A job is a specific task or delivery. It has a type, a status, stops if it is a Multi-Stop job, and proof of delivery.
A driver typically works on one or more jobs during a single shift. The shift tracks the vehicle and the driver's time on the road; jobs track the work being done.
Creating a job does not create a shift. The driver still starts their shift in the Fleet by Elevera mobile app. Starting a shift does not require a job either.
Why structured job management matters
Jobs are the reason your fleet exists — vehicles and drivers serve the job, not the other way around. A completed job with its proof of delivery protects your organization in a customer dispute: instead of "trust us, it was delivered", you have the driver's photo or signature with the time it was captured.
Recommendations
- Assign both a driver and a vehicle to each job. A job without a driver is not dispatched.
- For Multi-Stop jobs, add the stops in the order the driver should complete them.
- Check job statuses by the end of the day. A job still showing In Progress at closing time needs a follow-up — the driver may have forgotten to complete it, or the delivery genuinely failed.
