End your shift

Aktualisiert 2026-04-302 Min. Lesezeit

Park at the depot, swipe the orange End Shift slider, add optional notes, and tap End Shift. Your dispatcher receives the completed shift for review.

When to end your shift

End your shift when you return to the depot or designated parking location and have completed all deliveries for the day.

End-shift flow

  1. Park the vehicle at the designated location and turn off the engine.
  2. On the Shift tab, drag the orange Swipe to End Shift slider all the way across.
  3. The End Shift Notes screen appears. Type any handover notes for the next driver or dispatcher — anything off about the vehicle, fuel level, mileage, or what happened today. The notes field is optional.
  4. Tap the orange End Shift button. Fleet Go submits the shift, shows a confirmation toast, and drops you back on the Shift tab — now ready for a new shift.
HEADS UP

If you notice new damage that wasn't there at the start of the shift, report it as an incident before you swipe to end. The incident attaches to the active shift, so closing the shift first means it lands without a parent.

What your dispatcher sees

After you end your shift, the dispatcher's web dashboard shows:

  • Start and end times for the shift.
  • The 6 inspection photos taken at the start.
  • The vehicle and any odometer readings recorded.
  • Any incidents reported during the shift.
  • Your end-shift notes, if you added any.

The dispatcher reviews and approves the shift from the photo review queue.

Why ending your shift properly matters

A properly closed shift signals that the vehicle is back at the depot and available for the next driver. If you forget to swipe to end, the vehicle stays marked as "in use" — your dispatcher can't reassign it and the system can't accurately track utilization.

Closing the shift also timestamps the exact moment you returned. That data feeds into shift duration reports, overtime tracking, and any working-time compliance checks the operation runs.

TIP

Make end-of-shift a routine: park, engine off, swipe, tap End Shift. Three steps, ten seconds, done. If you leave the depot without ending the shift, you can still open Fleet Go from anywhere — the swipe and tap will go through and the close timestamp records when you actually did it.

If anything doesn't behave as expected at end-of-shift, see Troubleshooting & FAQ. For settings like language or your profile picture, see Settings, language & notifications.
