What a Damage verdict starts

A Damage verdict is where recovery begins. When you submit it, Fleet saves the review and opens a recovery case in the same step — you do not create the case yourself. The case names the vehicle, the driver of that shift, the reason (Damage confirmed) and the next step (Create incident). It starts assigned to you, due 24 hours after the verdict.

Give the Damage verdict

  1. Open the shift from Inspections and compare This shift with the Prior shift.
  2. Click Flag this photo on every angle that shows the damage. A Damage verdict needs at least one flagged frame.
  3. In the decision bar, choose Damage and describe what you see in the comment field.
  4. Click Submit Review.

Record the incident

After you submit, the Report incident wizard opens with your flagged frames pre-loaded as "Our damage". Work through it and submit: the new incident is linked to the recovery case and appears under the case's Connected records.

HEADS UP

The wizard that opens after the verdict is the step that links an incident to the case. If you close it instead, the case stays in the Recovery workspace with Create incident as its next step, and its incident record reads Not linked.

Find the case

  1. Click Recovery in the sidebar.
  2. Scroll to the case list. Leave the filters on Open cases and All next actions, and type the plate into the search field to narrow the list.
  3. Click the row of the case. Its number starts with RC-.

The case header shows the case number, its status (Action required), the reason and the next step. The owner and the deadline sit at the top right.

Confirm who owns it and by when

  1. In Ownership & SLA, check the Assignee. The case starts with you; choose a colleague if they should own it.
  2. If a team handles it, enter it in Team (optional).
  3. Check Due date and time and change it if the default 24 hours does not fit.
  4. Click Save ownership & SLA.

The Case timeline records every step with who did it and when: Case created when the verdict was submitted, Case assigned when you saved a change to the owner, team or deadline. Saving with nothing changed adds no entry.

Back to the evidence

The Connected records panel links back to the inspection through Open evidence review, so anyone working the case can see the frames that started it. Once an incident is linked, it is listed there too.

For the review itself, see Photo Review. For the incident's own workflow, see Incident Management.
