Dispatch, back office and fleet in one pair of hands

An honest answer to a problem from a conversation with a delivery operator: three jobs, one person. What Fleet takes over today, and what it does not.

In a conversation with an entrepreneur who runs several delivery businesses, a burden came up that he knows from his own days: dispatch, back office and fleet sit with the owner. Not by conviction, but because the business does not earn enough for three separate roles.

The honest answer has two parts. Software can make one of these three jobs smaller. It does not change the maths behind them.

What it costs to do it all yourself

When you do everything yourself, the first things to slip are the ones that are not urgent yet. Missed oil change. Missed TÜV. The van is parked. The route doesn't run.

The rest gets done in the evening: searching chat threads for damage photos, matching workshop invoices, working out who drove a vehicle last. That costs evenings. And it costs money when damage without proof stays with the business.

What Fleet takes off your plate

Fleet by Elevera takes the part that revolves around vehicles and evidence:

  1. Deadlines belong to the vehicle. Maintenance runs by mileage or by days. Fleet shows what is due soon and what is overdue, for service and TÜV.
  2. The driver documents the start of the shift. They photograph the vehicle in the app before driving off. The review list shows which shifts are still open.
  3. Damage has a path. A photo becomes a damage report with vehicle and driver, and that becomes a repair with costs. The evidence sits in one place, not scattered across chats and folders.
  4. Equipment has a holder. Who has which device, and until when, is recorded in Fleet. What does not come back gets noticed.
  5. The AI recommends. Your dispatcher decides. The AI pre-check sorts the photos. A person makes the call.

What Fleet does not take off your plate

  • People work. Payroll, contracts, leave and sick notes are not Fleet's job. Leave, sick notes and personnel documents are covered by Office by Elevera, a separate product.
  • Route planning and the arrangements with your client. Both stay with you.
  • The maths. What your contract leaves over for dispatch, back office and fleet is not something software changes. It lowers the effort of one of the three jobs. It does not raise the price of your work.

Three things you can hand off today, with or without software

  • Deadlines out of your head. Every service and inspection date sits in one place, with a date or a mileage.
  • Photos at the start of the shift. The driver takes them before driving off. Not you, in the evening.
  • One named person for photo review. With a name and a stand-in. How that stays workable across many vehicles is covered in "Does someone really have to check six photos per van every day?".

The business stays your job. Hunting for evidence does not have to be.
